Owner of Bambu, Marcie Baker has a diverse background in both her personal and work lives. She originates from New Hampshire but moved here to Indy in 1986.
In what reflects on her ambitious work ethic, she attended high school and cosmetology school at the same time, graduating in 1994. In an effort to expand her
horizons, she moved to Mexico to educate and mentor stylists for 5 years. She loves to do short pixie cuts and bobs, with an appeal for blonde, red, brown hair
as well as balayage. She eventually got out from behind the chair to embrace a management role and has been a veteran of Aveda for 10 years; her experience and
passion culminated in her purchasing the salon in April 2018 in partnership with her husband Shad. She is a mother of one son named Skyelor and two stepchildren,
Alex and Marissa. Her definition of success is when she sees her clients smile. In her free time, you’ll find her traveling, spending time with her family, or
jamming out to some Prince.

The youngest face in the salon, James Onofrey offers a fresh take on hair and is committed to customer satisfaction. While he is experienced in all aspects of
the Aveda concept, he has an especially particular knack for blowouts, styling and haircuts (most notably bobs and long haircuts). James attended the Aveda
Fredrics Institute in Castleton and graduated in 2017 and entered the salon as an apprentice and has worked his way up to a junior stylist. He has a great
appreciation of genuinely connecting with his clients through warm conversation and promoting an inviting atmosphere in which to relax and embrace the idea of
a new look! In his craft he has managed to add a new spark to the industry, offering more than just a haircut, but a client experience of which those in the
highest rankings of Aveda would be proud.

Celisa Marsh, a proud mother of two girls, grew up on the West side of Indianapolis with five sisters; this is where her passion for hair began. From a young age,
Celisa utilized each of her sisters as hair models, working on skills from braiding to styling; she spent her youth visiting the hair salon with her mother,
asking enumerable questions and seeing herself in the stylist role. She later graduated from Honors Beauty College then transitioned to Aveda because she was
enamored by the wide range of all-natural products offered by the company. Her strong suits are balayage, blonding techniques, cuts and styling for short and
long hair, color correction, ethnic hair and braiding.
~ "I strive to give my guest exactly what they want and need. I also prioritize on keeping them up on the latest trends and educating them on what’s hot and what’s not." ~
Janice Chen, a San Francisco bay area native, has a skill set and background that will wow any and all she has the pleasure of working with. In 2013
she graduated from the prestigious UC Berkeley California with a Bachelor’s degree in Piano. Post-graduation she applied her education by taking a teaching
role for a middle school music program while also privately teaching piano on the side; while she succeeded and excelled in these activities, she decided her
creative work would be better appreciated in the beauty world. Her diverse background is what has led her to Bambu salon here in Broad Ripple. Janice enjoys
sassy, vibrant color creation and has a finesse for women’s cuts. Outside of the salon, Janice enjoys shopping for the freshest looks, hiking with her dogs
and boyfriend, and playing board games.

Most likely, Katie’s face is the first thing you’ll see when you enter the salon. With her impeccable style and warm smile, she will be sure to properly usher
you in to the Aveda experience. She’s been in the salon business for 6 years, attending Minnesota School of Cosmetology and later entered into their business
program. She worked as a stylist for 2 years, then later gained experience in marketing for 3 years. Like her coworkers, she also originates from out of state,
and moved to Indy in 2014 for a change of pace. Make sure to have a conversation with her when you visit. You won’t be disappointed!
